Not Your Typical Boy Next Door – Rajkummar Rao!

Rajkummar Rao is one of the finest actors in Bollywood at the moment. He has that boyish charm and incredible talent to go with it. On his 31st birthday, let us go over some of his best roles to date.

Bareilly Ki Barfi

Starting with the latest, Bareilly Ki Barfi has one of Rajkummar’s best performances. He plays the character of innocent, small town boy Pritam Vidrohi. He gets bullied into situations by his supposed friend and the stammering but always exceedingly polite guy will have you in splits.

Amitabh Bachchan congratulated him for his performance, so you know it is worth the watch.

Queen

Even though he has only a small role in the hit movie, it is a memorable one. Although the movie is mainly focused on Kangana’s character, you can’t help being amused by Rajkummar’s antics in the movie.

Kai Po Che

The first of many to come, Kai Po Che was the first of Rajkummar’s films to have commercial success. He played the role of Govind Patel, a serious and ambitious young man who wants to make it big in the business. His performance was applauded by everyone.

Trapped

A movie with just one person. Only Rajkummar’s expressions and body language. You would think the movie is a bore but on the contrary, his performance will have your attention for the entirety of the movie. If you are ever in the mood for some serious cinema, give this a chance. Watch it alone for maximum impact.

Love, Sex Aur Dokha

Rajkummar’s debut movie was as far from mainstream as possible. The movie lives up to its name with Rao playing the role of Adarsh, selfish man with bad intentions. He plays the role of a desperate man in debt who takes advantage of a vulnerable girl to pay off loan sharks. Rajkummar’s talent shines through in his first acting venture.

Rajkummar’s new film Newton has released its trailer and we can’t wait to see it.

Happy birthday Mr. Rajkummar Rao and we wish you all the success in the world. See you soon on the silver screen.
